Klickitat is a rural county that stretches over 100 miles along the Columbia River. It is located in the south central part of Washington. The population is approximately 19,000. Our county is named after the Klickitat Indian band of the Yakama Indian Nation.
It is the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge, the Cascade Mountains, the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest, and the Mount Adams Recreation area. Klickitat County is a popular for outdoor recreation. The county has everything from forests, agriculture products, orchards, windsurfing, fishing, hunting, rafting, hiking, camping biking, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, rodeos, Klickitat County to many cultural activities.
You can follow the footsteps of Lewis and Clark, on their 1805 Corp of Discovery expedition to the Pacific Ocean.
